美加金联从加拿大移民局获得最新消息:加拿大移民部已于2013年1月2日开始受理“联邦技工移民计划”的申请，43种职业符合资格的申请，将在12个月获批。
合资格的43种“技工移民”的职业主要集中在石油、天然气、矿业、及建筑行业、林木业，所需要的各类技术工人及监管人员(supervisor)。
合资格申请“技工移民”的职业项目分为A类及B类，其中A类的17个职业，将以年收100个为限制；而列在B类的26个紧缺职业则不受申请人数限制。中国申请人感兴趣的职业例如铁工、焊工、水管工、及石油及天然井钻井人员，被列在不限人数的B类行业。虽然B类行业不受单项申请人数的限制，但所有“技工移民”的总申请数，不能超过移民部计划第一年受理的3000个申请名额。
除了符合职业类别所指定的技能及工作经验，联邦技工移民的申请人还必须符合其他3条标准，包括：
● 必须已获加国雇主聘用，或获各省发出合资格的证书，证明申请人一旦获准移民，即可投入工作；
● 申请人必须证明自己有基本的语言能力（英语或法语），口语和听力达到加拿大语言基准（CLB）5级的水平，阅读和写作达到CLB 4级水平。（注：CLB 4级被认为是基本能力，而CLB 5级可以更有效地进行日常沟通。）
● 至少要有两年技工相关的工作经验(海外)。
